July 4 –
Parade in Round Pond, Maine
Round Pond Parade is truly one of the best. I have ridden in the parade for
the past five years and this year will be no different. Round Pond Parade
is a great down home country parade with little organization. Little organization
means lots of home made floats and costumes and just all around down home
fun. There are very few firer engines; there are no sirens or gunshots in
celebration. The parade travels about a mile and half through the scenic town
of Round Pond. Last year is recorded that over five thousand showed up to
watch this parade. So this is a great opportunity for all you riders to dress
up yourselves and your horse and have a great time. For those who want to
make it for the parade and feel it maybe to far to travel here is what I am
offering:
The parade will be on Saturday July 4th and it starts at 11:00 am. We all
meet at a place known as Master Machine on Lower Pond Road @ 10:00 am. Those
who feel it maybe to far are welcome to meet here and camp or find a B&B.
There will be some room here for horses to spend the night of Friday. After
the parade we will meet back here for a trail ride and a cook out later in
the afternoon. There will also be a campfire later with what I hope will be
some local music. This will be allot of fun for all and what better way then
to spend the forth with our horses and friends. I have also included a web
address for parade route. I only ask that anyone who wishes to attend to get
in touch with me ASAP and reserve a place for your trailer. This will be who
ever reserves earliest gets a spot to park. Thank you all and see you all
